Profile & 2FA

Every signed-in user reaches their profile through the user menu in the top right. There you change your own password, see your role and — if it is not active yet — set up two-factor authentication.

Open your profile

Click your user name in the top right and choose Profile. The view consists of three cards:

  • User information — name, email and a coloured role chip: Admin (red), Operator (orange), Viewer (neutral). Roles are assigned by an admin; you cannot promote yourself.
  • Change password
  • Two-factor authentication

Change your password

  1. Enter your current password.
  2. Enter a new password (at least 8 characters).
  3. Repeat the confirmation character for character.
  4. Save.

On success you see the message "Password changed successfully". For security reasons, changing your password ends existing sessions — you then have to sign in again with the new password. If the current password is wrong, exactly that is reported and nothing changes.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer with a time-based 6-digit code (TOTP) from an authenticator app — such as Aegis, FreeOTP or Google Authenticator.

Enable

  1. Card Two-factor authenticationEnable 2FA.
  2. Scan the QR code with the app — or type the displayed key manually if the app cannot scan.
  3. Continue and enter the 6-digit code from the app.
  4. Enable 2FA confirms the code.

The card then shows the status enabled (green chip). From now on every login asks for the 6-digit code in addition to your password.

Note: Store the displayed key once in a safe place (e.g. a password manager). This lets you re-enrol the app if you lose your device — the app will not show the key again later.

Disable

Use Disable 2FA on the same card. The dialog asks for your current password and a valid code. If the app is no longer available (e.g. a lost phone), an admin resets 2FA in Settings.

Forgot your password

The login screen offers Forgot your password? — visible once email sending (SMTP) is configured:

  1. Enter your email address and click Request.
  2. The system sends a time-limited reset link.
  3. Open the link, set a new password and return to the login.

Without email sending the function is hidden; an admin then triggers the reset in Settings.

Good to know

  • Session: The interface renews your sign-in in the background. When the session finally expires, you are returned to the login page.
  • Logout: User menu → Log out ends the session immediately.
  • Other users: Passwords and 2FA for other people are managed by an admin in Settings.
